About the Opportunity

North and West Remote Health (NWRH) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Team Leader to join their Mount Isa based, Community Services team. This role is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract until 31st January 2025.

Reporting to the General Manager Community Services, the successful applicant will be accountable for the delivery of safe, culturally proficient, client focused care from intake through to reporting and client discharge for all services delivered. You will also support the General Manager with compliance against program requirements including  continuous improvement activities and auditing to meet the relevant accreditation standards. 

Your primary responsibilities will include (but not be limited to);

  • Directly leading the Community Services team in Mount Isa and surrounds with day-to-day operational support and guidance;
  • Reporting on outcomes and deliverables in line with funding agreements
  • Assisting clients to maintain independence where possible through connection with services and supports.
  • Providing oversight and leadership to Community Services frontline staff and contractors including as a point of escalation where client health conditions change and promptly supporting appropriate actions;
  • Understanding and supporting all reporting requirements for Community Services programs as per funding agreement guidelines; and
  • Maintaining all Community Services documentation, ensuring compliance and up to date.

It is desirable, that you will hold an undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in Management (or other relevant fields), but are not essential, as experience in  a relevant field will be considered.

As you'll be leading NWRH's Mount Isa Community Services team, it is essential you possess supervisory experience in a community or health-related area and is desirable to have worked in a similar not-for-profit environment. You'll also require an awareness of Indigenous health issues and the ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner, in order to support diverse and multidisciplinary teams members. 

NWRH is seeking a candidate with high-level communication skills as you will be required to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including general practitioners, health service providers and government and non-government agencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is ideal. 

This role will include travel by road and air to outreach communities; therefore a current C Class driver’s licence is a requirement for this position. This position also requires the ability to work flexible hours when required.
