Build your Speech Pathologist career in our Mount Isa or Townsville clinic where you’ll join a supportive multi-discipline allied health team. We’re flexible on what this role looks like for the right candidate, with full-time or part-time options available on either a permanent basis or a fixed-term contract, including shorter-term arrangements such as 3 to 6 months.

This role offers broad clinical exposure, the opportunity to support clients with communication, swallowing, and developmental needs, and the chance to work closely with families, community partners, and a multidisciplinary team. Regular outreach travel to surrounding communities is required, including overnight stays away from home as needed, with travel completed during work hours where possible. A work vehicle is provided, and any required after-hours travel is supported through time in lieu. Make a meaningful difference while delivering Speech Pathology services across rural and remote Queensland.

 

Benefits

  • Salary from $82,858 to $105,893 + super (Pro-rata for part-time) based on experience
  • Salary sacrificing options up to $15,900 to help maximise your take home pay;
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus leave loading of 17.5%;
  • $180 per fortnight Rental Subsidy (Mount Isa and Longreach only);
  • Initial staff accommodation available (Mount Isa and Longreach only);
  • Up to $3k relocation assistance for Mount Isa plus possible additional payment of up to $3k from Health Workforce Queensland for candidates who relocate and meet the criteria
  • Annual Flight Home upon 12 months of service (If based in Mount Isa or Longreach);
  • Continuous Professional Development: Up to 10 days of paid professional development leave each financial year, supporting learning aligned with your role and career development.

About the role

  • Assess speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs across a diverse client caseload
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy to support client goals, independence, and wellbeing
  • Develop tailored treatment plans for children, adults, and families
  • Collaborate with allied health teams, families, and community partners to deliver holistic care
  • Provide outreach services to rural and remote communities across North Queensland

Skills & experience

  • Speech Pathology Australia registration or eligibility to obtain
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification
  • QLD Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening clearance
  • Current unrestricted ‘C’ class Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Right to live and work in Australia
