Are you an experienced ICT leader ready to shape the digital capability of a dynamic, purpose‑driven organisation? North & West Queensland Primary Health Care is seeking a Manager Data and Technology to lead our ICT strategy, operations, and team in delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology services across our region.
Key Responsibilities
As the Manager Data and Technology, you will oversee the acquisition, development, maintenance and optimisation of our ICT systems. You’ll guide a multidisciplinary team, drive strategic technology initiatives, and ensure our systems support high‑quality service delivery across a geographically diverse footprint.
This role is hands‑on, strategic, and influential ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, improving systems, and leading people.
ICT Strategy & Leadership
- Analyse organisational information needs and specify technology solutions.
- Develop and implement ICT strategies, policies, and plans.
- Direct ICT operations, prioritising system development, maintenance, and support.
- Oversee ICT security, risk management, and disaster recovery planning.
Business Systems & Process Improvement
- Work with users to document business requirements and optimise processes.
- Lead system testing, documentation, and training.
- Develop functional specifications and support system development.
Network, Systems & Infrastructure
- Manage WAN/LAN networks, SAN technologies, backup and recovery systems.
- Liaise with vendors and monitor service level agreements.
- Conduct architecture reviews and recommend future hardware/software directions.
Team Leadership
- Provide direction, supervision, and support to ICT staff (two direct reports).
- Oversee budget planning, reporting, and resource management.
About You
-
You will bring:
- Extensive ICT knowledge across multi‑server/multi‑vendor environments.
- Strong experience with Office 365, SharePoint, InfoPath, Windows OS, networks, SAN, and DR systems.
- High‑level analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex ICT operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong planning, workflow management, and project management capability.
- A commitment to high‑quality customer service in an ICT environment.
- Current C‑class driver’s licence.
- Australian/NZ citizenship, PR, or unrestricted work rights.
Desirable qualifications and skills:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate IT qualification
- Microsoft Certification (MSCE or equivalent)
- Project management or ITIL certification
- Business/Management qualifications
- Understanding of Primary Health Networks
