About the Opportunity
NWRH is seeking a full-time Team Leader to join our Mount Isa Community Services team. This position is on a fixed-term basis to backfill maternity leave. Reporting to the General Manager of Community Services, you will provide leadership and operational oversight to ensure safe, culturally competent, and client-focused service delivery.
You will lead and support the Community Services team across Mount Isa and surrounding regions, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment. The role includes oversight of the identification, escalation, and management of changing or complex client health and wellbeing needs, along with contributing to data monitoring, analysis, and reporting to meet funding and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide strong leadership and day-to-day support to the Community Services team across Mount Isa and surrounding regions, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
- Providing oversight and leadership in the identification, escalation, and management of changing or complex client health and wellbeing needs.
- Contribute to regular data monitoring, analysis and reporting to ensure outcomes align with funding agreements and contractual obligations.
- Support clients to maintain their independence, safety, and wellbeing by assessing individual needs and connecting them with appropriate services, supports, and community resources.
- Ensure all program reporting, client documentation, and administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with legislative, funding, and organisational requirements
About You
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience within community, health, or human services.
- Experience working in a not-for-profit, rural, or remote health environment is highly regarded, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities these settings present.
- A strong awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health disparities, and the ability to work effectively in a culturally safe manner.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with GPs, health professionals, community organisations, and government and non-government stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Current C-Class driver’s licence and flexibility to travel by road and air to outreach communities as required.
- Flexible working hours as required.
Desirable:
Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in Management or related field (not essential if you have relevant experience).
