North and West Remote Health (NWRH) is seeking a dietitian to join our Townsville team on a full-time basis for 6 months. Applications from all experience levels, from fresh graduates to seasoned experts, are encouraged.
As part of a supportive, diverse, and multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide dietetic services in collaboration with a range of specialists. You'll get to treat based on clinical need without the barriers that are often present in private practice funding, offering long-term treatment and prevention strategies.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Clinical and health promotion
- Provide high quality, evidence based clinical dietetic advice across the lifespan and broad range of clinical presentations, including but not limited to chronic disease management, IBS/IBD, weight management, allergy and intolerance, paediatric growth and neurodiversity, malnutrition
- Navigate clinical service delivery and key performance indicators by utilising a range of funding bodies, including NDIS
- Participate in the planning and implementation of outreach community education and health promotion activities
Quality improvement
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to maintain and improve clinical standards
- Actively engage with senior staff and management to report gaps in service delivery and propose innovative solutions to problems
Communication and stakeholder engagement
- Provide reliable and consistent correspondence to referrers, including GP’s, to report diet-related goals and objectives
- Liaise with a range of community organisations to support integrated and holistic service delivery
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals

Successful candidates will receive an attractive remuneration package starting from $78,000 (commensurate with experience) + super and a host of further benefits including:

Please Note:
- You must have the right to live and work in Australia to be considered for this role;
- You will be required to travel by road and/or in small planes to communities distant from your catchment area on a regular basis, so must be comfortable with this aspect of the role.
- A 'C' Class Driver's License (Manual preferred) is also an essential requirement
