NWRH now has several fantastic opportunities for Graduate or Experienced Physiotherapist and Speech Pathologist to join our dedicated team based in Longreach, Queensland. 

There are opportunities available for you to come onboard prior to your completion and registration.

Speech Pathologist:

The main aim of this role is to plan, deliver and evaluate discipline specific clinical services and community education activities across the Longreach area, in accordance with organisational and program funding guidelines.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing high quality discipline specific, multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary services to clients and communities, including assessment, prevention, treatment and interventions;
  • Working collaboratively with communities, general practitioners, other service providers and stakeholders and participating in an exchange of skills with communities;
  • Participating in community development and health promotion activities together with communities;
  • Providing support to peers and supervision to students where appropriate; and
  • Continually developing and improving the service, including contributing to accreditation, ongoing review and development of policies, procedures and operational strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology, and registration with Speech Pathology Australia, the national peak body. 

Physiotherapist:

As Physiotherapist you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and helping prevent disorders in human movement caused by injury or disease. 

Reporting directly to the Team Leader, some of your duties will encompass:

  • Administering muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests;
  • Designing and evaluating treatment programs;
  • Providing comprehensive treatment and care to patients;
  • Reviewing, continually monitoring, assessing and evaluating programs and treatments; and
  • Assisting to improve the health of individuals and the community through awareness.

NWRH is seeking applications from culturally aware individuals with a passion for primary health care and a commitment to building capacity at a local level. Candidates should have an awareness of primary health care principles and issues in rural and remote communities. 

To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, and registration with AHPRA.

 Successful candidates will receive an attractive remuneration salary starting from $78,483, PLUS- Super and a host of further benefits including:
