North and West Remote Health (NWRH) are currently seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join their Mount Isa team, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Team Leader, and working as part of a supportive, diverse and multidisciplinary team, this role will see you assessing, planning and implementing exercise programs for preventing and managing chronic diseases and injuries and assisting in restoring optimal physical function, health and wellness of NWRH clients.
Core duties will include but will not be limited to:

Screening and risk stratifying to ensure the safety and appropriateness of exercise and physical activity interventions;

Assessing a person's 'movement' capacity in people of all ages and levels of health, wellbeing or fitness;

Running already developed group classes in relation to falls prevention and cardiac and pulmonary health;

Developing safe, effective individualised exercise interventions;

Providing health education, advice and support to enhance health and wellbeing;

Providing exercise intervention and advice for those at risk of developing a chronic condition or injury; and

Managing communication with internal and external stakeholders.
There will be some travel with overnight stays required to provide outreach services to communities distant to Mount Isa. A vehicle, meals and accommodation whilst away will be subsidised by NWRH.

Skills and experience
To be considered, you must hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology and have current registration with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA), or be eligible for registration.
In addition, you will need:

A current, unrestricted 'C' class Australian Driver's Licence

A combined blue card & NDIS worker screening (or be eligible)

The right to live and work in Australia
Candidates who are credentialed with Queensland Health will also be highly regarded.
You will display high level communication skills, good computer literacy in the Microsoft Office suite and ideally have an awareness of local health issues.
